Symbion is part of the innovation district Copenhagen Science City. Here you can encounter 30,000 researchers, staff, and students within an 800-metre radius. At the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences and the Faculty of Science at the University of Copenhagen, Rigshospitalet and at University College Copenhagen.

Food & Bio Cluster Denmark is the national cluster for food and bioresources in Denmark. They are the collective platform for innovation and growth in the cluster – for both Danish and international companies and knowledge-based institutions. They promote increased cooperation between research and business and offer their members one-stop-shop access to networks, funding, business development, projects and facilities. The IT University of Copenhagen (ITU)
Access to skills, knowledge and learning is essential when you build and scale your business. Symbion works closely with the universities in Copenhagen, including ITU. This cooperative relationship will make it easier for startup companies in the Symbion community to meet and collaborate with students and researchers. Together with ITU and others, matchmaking and career events are held in correlation with student projects and internships, as well as collaboration with researchers, so that you, as part of Symbion community, have access to the latest knowledge. Ørestad Innovation City Copenhagen
Innovation happens when we meet. This is why coworking spaces such as Symbion are priceless. But it is when innovations are to be scaled and further developed, that the ties to a larger business ecosystem really become interesting. Ørestad Innovation City Copenhagen (ØICC) provides those ties.
ØICC is an innovation partnership based in the Ørestad area of Copenhagen. It is a partnership between large international companies, government agencies, educational institutions, and start-ups. The partnership between ØICC and Symbion means that all Symbion companies receive free access to all conferences and seminars held under the auspices of ØICC. At the same time, it also provides the opportunity to sit in on selected meetings in our five professional networks for Urban Development, Communication, Innovation & Technology, Talent & Internationalisation and Destination Ørestad. Otto Bruuns Fond
The Otto Bruuns Foundation has supported Symbion with a generous amount to purchase equipment for Makerspace by Symbion.
The Foundation supports research in Danish industry, in addition to development of industrial inventions by entrepreneurs and inventors, plus other objects of general social value. The aid consists of grants and, in some cases, capital base. The foundation supports individuals, including inventors, entrepreneurs, and students, as well as institutions and companies. The Alexandra Institute
If you work in IT or with AI and IoT, or your business is within these sectors, then as a part of the Symbion community, you will receive access to the Alexandra Institute and their research in the above fields. Their Danish Center for Applied Artificial Intelligence and Nordic IoT Center is located at Univate SC3 by Symbion at Islands Brygge and the door is always open for a cup of coffee and an informal chat. The University of Copenhagen (KU)
When you and your company are a part of the Symbion community, you have easy access to new knowledge and to hire student assistants. Symbion is partly located on the University of Copenhagen’s South Campus at Islands Brygge. Career fairs and professional events are also organised together with KU and as part of the community, you will receive exclusive access to the Symbion Matchmaking job bank, which includes the ability to search for students to work for your business.
